How Does IMATINIB Work?

Imatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). It blocks abnormal proteins, including BCR-ABL, KIT, and platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFR), which send signals that promote cancer-cell growth and division. By inhibiting these proteins, imatinib helps slow or stop the growth of abnormal cells and control the progression of the disease.

Precautions
