LENALID 25MG-30 TAB is an anti-cancer drug and is available under the brand name REVLIMID. This medicine is helpful for patients who suffer from blood cancer disorders. This medicine finds its use in cases of multiple myeloma.
This medicine is known to stop the growth of blood vessels. These blood vessels are known to nourish the cancerous cells in the body. Revlimid generic or Lenalid is also known to affect the division and multiplication process of cancer-causing cells. This property is known as cell proliferation. LENALID 25MG-30 TAB also has an immunomodulatory effect and triggers the response of the immune system against cancer-causing cells. Lenalid also alters chemical production for cells that aid the growth and survival of cancer-causing cells.
Lenalid 25MG can also be used combined with dexamethasone. When used in combination with dexamethasone, LENALID 25MG-30 TAB is known to enhance its response against multiple myeloma. The overall survival rate in patients is also increased when they use this medicine.
The dose of Lenalid 25 MG is to be taken orally as a single tablet of 25 MG for a period of 21 days. This medicine is to be taken, either in the morning or during evening hours. When LENALID 25MG-30 TAB is taken, a dose of dexamethasone 40 mg is also to be taken from day 1 to 4, day 9 to 12 and day 17 to 20 in this 28-day cycle.
The medicine on consumption is completely absorbed by the body in 6 hours of taking the same. This medicine is known to metabolize in the liver and is distributed in the cancerous region of the body. More than 50 % of the medicine is expelled out from the body in 3 to 5 hours, mostly in form of urine. In patients who are suffering from any kind of kidney or renal issues, around 40% of this medicine is excreted through dialysis.
Patients who have had negative tests of pregnancy before they take LENALID 25MG-30 TAB should not get into any kind of physical relationship before and up to four weeks after this treatment. Revlimid side effects long term (Lenalid 25 MG) can be a decrease in platelet count, reduction in the number of red blood cells and infection in the upper respiratory tract.
